Provides information about Parental Leaves of Absence
Under the Parental Leave law, similarly situated employees and faculty who are male or transgender are eligible to receive the same parental leave benefits as women. All employees and faculty members who successfully complete a 90 day period at Tufts, regardless of their gender or gender identity, are entitled to take up to 8 weeks of unpaid parental leave. Employees and faculty covered by the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) are entitled to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave.
In addition to this law, Tufts has set a Parental Leave policy, which may entitle faculty and staff to paid parental leave benefits.
