International Students – Social Security Number and On-Campus Employment
International students, scholars, and employees must obtain a Social Security Number if authorized to work in the US. Please note: a Social Security Number is required to record and report federal income properly.
New Hires & Students without a Social Security Number:
As soon as a student has a job offer they may apply for a Social Security Number as soon as possible.
While completing the New Hire steps, new hires should select “APPLIED FOR” when asked to provide a Social Security Number.
Upon receipt of their Social Security Number, employees should submit their number to I-9 Everywhere (they will have been prompted to send it in an email from I9Everywhere.com). Otherwise, employees may notify TSS and an I-9Everywhere specialist (Sam, Taylor, Andy) will have the corrective form emailed to the employee.
