Primary Information

    If you are an active, regular employee at the University, you are eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, AD&D, long term disability insurance programs provided that you are:         
    • an exempt or non-exempt employee regularly scheduled to work 17.5 hours or more a week, with a minimum 90 days employment period; or
    • a faculty member with at least a half time (as determined by the academic department), two semester appointment
    Read about your benefits on this page.  Information pertaining to benefits is also reviewed at New Hire Orientation for staff.  You will be scheduled for orientation through the Human Resources department.  Since faculty do not attend orientations, any questions regarding benefits selections should be made to a benefits representative on their respective campus.

    This Tip Sheet will walk you through the process of enrolling in Benefits on eServe. Note that enrollment is best completed from a computer or laptop rather than a cell phone and that you may have difficulty with a Mac/Safari browser. Try changing browsers if you are having technical issues. 


    If you are a post-doc, please read this page, as your benefits are different from that of faculty and staff.  Generally, student workers are not eligible for benefits.
